Hi!
Now we have just got out of bed after our first night in NYC. We started very
early on tuesday morning in Hölö and went by train and bus to Arlanda airport
where Jack and Rob took a breakfast beer.
On the plane we met a bunch of young fans from Umeå, Patrik, Sara, Erik and
Lasse (and Patriks brother who's name I have forgotten . A funny detail is that
Patriks father is one of Jacks friends from their childhood and they havent met
each other for 35 years.
Patrik recognized Jack from our homepage.
We also had a long chat with a guy (think his name is Patrik) who's some kind of
a manager for rock and pop musicians.
We had very pleasant flight and we felt well and suddenly we had landed on
Newarks airport.
It went very smooth to get into the country, it took no time at all to get trough
immigrations and customs.
After that we took a taxi heading for New York City. A spooky detail here is
that in the moment when we saw Manhattan in front of us we heard Do do do
Heartbreaker on the radio!
That was just great!
We checked in to our hotel (1 minutes walk to Broadway), we got a room on the 17:th floor and Jack was very
quick to put his Stonesflag up in the window. Then the next thing to fix was the
internet connection and as you can see we did make it and sent some pictures
over to Vilhelm.
Then we walked out to Times Square and after a quick burger we strolled towards
Mustang Harrys on 7:th avenue where we had made up to meet some dutch people
from the Forty Flicks Fan Club. On the way we had a stop at Hard Rock Cafe, we
had a beer, talked to a big fan from Denver and took a look at the guitars on
walls.
We had just sat down at Mustang Harrys and got our first beer when we turned
around and there stood Björnulf. We also met two of the dutch fans Pauline and
Robin and there were fans from Ireland and Belgium and we had really good time.
We all three went home by ourselfes. Ove took a nice walk in the night back to the
hotel, Rob came in a taxi an hour later and Jack came in a another taxi God
knows when.
Right now we are drinking a good cup of coffe that Rob just have been out to
Times Square and fixed for us. Next is a shower and then a breakfast at
a "coffeshop on 42:th st", you know "I dont need no fancy food and I dont need
no fancy wine".
Today is concert day and the first thing after breakfast will be to fetch our
tickets for todays show.
The story continues and I hope we will get some more reports done later here.
